Blacksmithing Workshops

One Time Forge It Class

3-Hour Class teaching the construction of one item using blacksmithing techniques.

These classes are designed as teasers to let you experience what it's like to work with hot steel.
Focus will be on the fundamentals of hammer control to get the steel to respond the way you want it to.
Each sampler focuses on a specific project that students get to take with them at the end of class.

Our experienced instructors will use a combination of lecture, demonstration, and
hands-on instruction at the forge to enhance your learning experience.
These classes are great for beginner smithers!

About Instructor Jake Mayette:

You don't have to be interested in horses or want to be a farrier to start learning. Blacksmithing is the part of my career I can share with everyone. As a professional farrier blacksmithing is a big part of my life. It is an honor to teach the art to new beginners just as my mentors before me. I take great inspiration from my old instructor Dusty Franklin, from FiveStar Horseshoeing school in Minco Oklahoma. I am also thankful for all the unlikely teachers that helped me develop my skill at clinics and contests around the nation, their kindness and patience is recognized, that environment and experience is something I strive to recreate for my students. Sharing my career is something I am passionate about.
