Madi Parsons
Head Wrangler

Madi grew up knowing she wanted to work with animals. By the time she was six, she found her passion lay with horses. After attending her first horse camp, she was hooked. Madi then continued to crave more knowledge and experience. In order to learn everything she could, she bounced around working and riding at stables in the Binghamton area. Each barn gave her many great opportunities in learning various skills and disciplines (hunt seat, showmanship, jumping, western pleasure, barrel racing.)

Throughout Madi’s high school years, she worked on four horse farms and competed on an Interscholastic Equestrian Association western team; where riders draw a horse at random and are judged as soon as they are mounted. Around this time period, Madi had also gotten into barrel racing, competing in several local rodeos. She had attended clinics taught by professional barrel racer, Nicky Kurty, World Champion trainer and clinician, Dena Kirkpatrick, and most recently, WNFR 2014 Barrel Racing World Champion, Fallon Taylor. All of which extended her knowledge on horse behavior, riding skill and barrel racing.

Madi had grown up riding horses owned by other farms and trainers but never a horse of her own. When she graduated high school a year early, her dream came true and she could finally afford her own horse. This is when Madi bought her very first horse, a 17.1H thoroughbred gelding, Sinatra, who is also currently residing at Painted Bar Stables. After buying Sinatra, Madi decided she wanted to start teaching others what she loved and began giving lessons. She very much enjoyed teaching others, especially children, about what she is passionate about.

When the summer of 2017 rolled around, Madi wanted to branch off and continue learning about the horse business, which is when she came to Painted Bar as an intern. After falling in love with the farm filled with smiling faces, reliable horses, beautiful land and a friendly and educational atmosphere, Madi knew she wanted to stay to contribute.
